Navigation and avionics
Goods from the field of aeronautical engineering and navigation are per se export-critical. Their proximity also to military aviation is reflected in a separate category in Annex I of the Dual-Use Regulation (Category 7 – Navigation and avionics). Therefore, special attention must be paid to export control in this industry.
- Export law issues are present in the following areas:
Systems, equipment and components such as accelerometers, gyroscopes or rate-of-rotation sensors, aircraft altimeters or receiving equipment for satellite navigation systems - special inspection, test and manufacturing facilities
- data processing programs (software) related to aeronautical engineering
- Aeronautical technology, i.e., specific technical knowledge required for the development, manufacture, or use of a product (technical documentation or technical assistance in the form of, for example, instruction, skill transfer, training, job aids, or consulting services)
Sanctions Compliance Program
The sanctions compliance program should be tailored to include the following components:
- Management commitment
- Risk assessment
- internal controls
- tests and audits
- Training
